basket -o- mushrooms: welcome
Welcome to basket -o- mushrooms, a small, rather insignificant site where you can adopt your own mushroom to decorate your website. That's really the only point of this place. Please read on.

history
The site was first opened on my old domain, buppytropolis.net, in what I think was autumn 2002. I had drawn these mushrooms, but then hesitated to put them up when the little fruit adoption craze was peaking--I didn't want to seem like I was copying. However, I was persuaded to put up the mushrooms anyway, so I did. The site died with the old domain, but I rather like my mushrooms; I think it's time for them to come back. By the way, all of the mythology behind the objects on this site was created by me. There is absolutely no other research or backstory behind it whatsoever.

instructions
Choose a mushroom or other object from the mushroom encyclopedia below. You can use the provided link text to instantly place a linked mushroom on your website. If you decide to do it yourself, remember that all mushrooms must link back to http://lonely-moon.net/mushroom/.

<a href="http://lonely-moon.net/mushroom/" target="_blank"><img src="IMAGE FILENAME" border=0>

rules
1) Link all mushrooms back to this URL.
2) Don't pretend you drew the mushrooms yourself.
3) Direct-linking is okay, but I'd still appreciate it if you saved the images to your own server!
4) Please don't use them as parts of actual layouts. Other than that, you can put them wherever you want.
